Women Growing W.I.S.E.R. Together
A circle of women grows W.I.S.E.R. through journaling, EFT tapping, and self-compassion practices for resilience, healing, and personal growth.
A Circle of Women, a Journey Through W.I.S.E.R.
As our final Tap and Write session came to a close, I felt grateful for the women in our small circle who came together knowing only that they’d be doing some tapping and writing on the 5 themes or resources that make up W.I.S.E.R.
We explored Wisdom, Intuition, Self-compassion, Energy and Resilience/Responsibility, each session building upon the other, creating awareness and attunement to strengths, inner resources and guidance systems.
My intent was to create a space where it was safe to explore each theme and share - we learn from each other, even when backgrounds, ages and stages, and experiences are varied. As the facilitator, witnessing five powerful women coming together, sharing their experiences and trusting each other was perhaps the most gratifying.
Tapping Before Writing: Opening the Door to Deeper Reflection
I don’t know that the information I offered each week was new to participants, but it seemed that the combination of EFT Tapping to calm our bodies before writing was one of the things that helped to explore more deeply the challenges and concerns that were brought into each session.
I varied the exercises to include music, poetry, energy tools, and visualization to set the stage for powerful writing prompts that invited reflection and in some moments, transformation and “ah-ha’s.
Practice Beyond the Page
We never know when a trigger will emerge, pulling us in a direction we weren’t expecting, even when we think we’ve chosen a mild-moderate event to explore. The tools and strategies offered were designed to support and calm during our weekly sessions but more importantly, to take away and use during the week, in real life situations.
At the heart of this series was the hope that each participant would leave with an increased sense of agency and some tools to care for themselves: a round of tapping before writing in their journals, a kind word repeated as the inner critic fades away, a meeting with their wise inner council for support, a softened heart and body to connect with their intuitive knowing, a responsible response to meeting their needs - all designed to increase confidence and more ease.
With practice and time, it all becomes who we are - a W.I.S.E.R. Woman.
Our circle has closed and with it a sadness that “it’s over”. And yet, I know that with any ending there is transition, a pause before the next beginning. Meeting with each person from our group for feedback, I realize how much I continue to learn about the human spirit and our need for connection, support, understanding, and growth.
As I navigate through this transition, feeling at a bit of a loss when I look at my calendar next week, you’ll find me sitting quietly, tapping into my inner resources as I contemplate next steps and the path ahead for Tap and Write.

Joan
